Brian Haverkate
Brian Haverkate is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Choral Music Education.  He also spent time at Michigan State University for undergrad and Boston University for Masters classes.  He has been teaching choral music in the public schools for the past 23 years in both Florida and Michigan.

  • He is a founding member of the Michigan State University Accafellas and Florida State University All-Night Yahtzee

  • A cappella groups he has directed have been featured on the “Best of High School A Cappella” recording compilation with three different groups more than 5 times from 2012-2019 and they have been selected to perform at National Conventions and Festivals around the country as well as in the International Championship of High School A Cappella Finals in New York City. 

  • In 2022, Brian started a community wide a cappella program in the Detroit metro area for ages 8-17+ called FIRESTORM a cappella.  The groups perform locally, have shared the stage with high school and collegiate groups, and have released their first single and music video on all streaming platforms.

  • In his spare time he sings and beat-boxes in the professional a cappella group, TBD a cappella which recently released their first full length award-winning album, “The Answer’s 42”, which can be found on all digital streaming platforms.

Brian specializes in a cappella vocal arrangements for ages 8-17 where he utilizes his 20+ years of experience in public education, but has arranged for all levels and voice types.
